Playa del Carmen Animal Shelter News

Good/busy couple of weeks

Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year!

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who have helped and supported us in 2007.

Apologies

Apologies for the website not being up to date. Our internet is currently down so we are relying on quick flits to the internet cafe.

More sad losses

Another sad week unfortunately. First we had to have sweet little Shandy put to sleep due to chronic ehrlichiosis, and now we have lost gorgeous Alma.

On Saturday we had our second great on-site vet clinic, this time for surgery.

A Sad Week

This has been a sad week for us. Following on from the sad death of our beloved Dulce is the loss of Sparky, Polly's tiny pup and Kylie.

Update

After seeming to be on the road to recovery, little Dulce had a relapse and unfortunately passed away due to the bronchial pneumonia she had been suffering with.

Cora's puppies

When Polly first arrived, we suspected that she might be pregnant, but she is so thin that we couldn't be sure.

First vet clinic

Our first on-site vet clinic held on Saturday was a huge success.

8 New Puppies!

Busy, busy day yesterday with the arrival of 8 new puppies.

Shelter Vet Clinics

It was always part of our dream to have an on site vet clinic at the shelter and now it looks like this will soon be happening.

New squeaky toy

Odin is convinced that we have provided him with a new toy in the form of little Mimi. It seems nothing will convince him that she is a DOG and not a plaything provided for his entertainment.

Thor's Medical Care

Thor has had to stay at the vet's for a couple of days due to excessive swelling following his neutering operation. Our attempts to keep him calm so as to allow the swelling to go down were unsucc
