After seeming to be on the road to recovery, little Dulce had a relapse and unfortunately passed away due to the bronchial pneumonia she had been suffering with. She was very special to us and it is so sad to lose her after such a struggle to make her well and just when we thought we were winning.

The other sad news is that little Polly has mastitis (apparently due to making too much milk for just one puppy) and she needs to take drugs for the infection and also to dry up her milk.

This unfortunately means that we have had to take her puppy away from her. At just one week old, this is a horrible thing to have to do, but apparently there is no alternative.

Little Sparky now needs bottle feeding every 2 hours day and night. Our wonderful local angel Deborah has kindly taken this over for the time being.

Polly herself is not too concerned at the moment, probably because she is still very much a puppy herself. We also have a constant battle to get her to eat anything and she remains painfully thin. She was finding looking after the pup physically draining.

This is a very sad and unfortunate situation and we can only hope and pray for a happy outcome.
